Frequently Asked Questions About Roll-off Dumpsters
Absolutely! Just give us your email when you order the can, and we’ll send you a receipt when we bill your credit card.
Because our inventory is constantly changing, we don’t want to accidentally sell a container we don’t have. Placing orders over the phone allows us to ensure that we can keep our promise to you.
We have a 7-day rental policy. When you order the dumpster, we’ll work with you to set a pickup date, or we’ll give you a call seven days after we drop the can. If something changes, you can always reach out and let us know. Dumpsters kept for longer than 7 days can be charged up to an extra $20/day, but if you have a special circumstance, we’ll do what we can to work with you.
Our drivers are careful when placing dumpsters, but there’s always a risk—after all, driveways weren’t made for thousands and thousands of pounds to sit on the edge of them! You do have the option of ordering driveway protection for an additional $50 when you order a container, or you can lay down your own protection (e.g., plywood) on your driveway—just be sure to let us know so our driver knows that’s where to place it.
Nope, you don’t need to be home, but we do please ask that if you’re not there, you make sure to clearly mark where you want the dumpster placed and that the area surrounding the container is clear. (Our trucks plus the dumpsters need AT LEAST 53 feet of clearance to be able to get the job done.) We will not service the container if we cannot access it, if it is filled over the top, or if we notice prohibited items in it. If we encounter any of these problems when trying to service your dumpster, we will do our best to get in touch with you. We try very hard to resolve these problems while still there; leaving the site without completing our work is our last resort and something we try to avoid, as it results in a failed trip fee for you.
We try our very best to service customers within about 24 hours. During high-volume periods of the year, the wait might be longer, but we will definitely try our best to secure you a can and get it to you as fast as possible! We deliver between 7 AM and 4:30 PM. Same-day service can occasionally be arranged, depending on our schedule.
The dumpster will be placed on your driveway unless otherwise instructed. It is our company policy not to put containers in yards or non-paved areas, as rain can make it nearly impossible to get the dumpster back out, and we really don’t want to damage your or other people’s properties—or risk our truck getting stuck! We are required by law to leave space between our dumpster and buildings, as well as our dumpsters and streets. If you think the dumpster will not fit in your driveway and/or you want to place the dumpster across a sidewalk, on the street, or on other public property, you will need to check to see if your city requires a permit.
<p>If you will not be on site when we deliver the dumpster, please make sure you have clearly communicated where you want it, or clearly mark the spot with cones or plywood.
We recommend that you pack the debris in a way that best reduces wasted space. Heavy material should be at the bottom of the container and should be spread evenly throughout. The top of the dumpster is the loading line; nothing should go past it, as it becomes a hazard for both our drivers and other people on the road. We are required by law to cover the dumpster with a tarp before transporting it; if we are unable to for whatever reason, we reserve the right to have offloaded anything we cannot transport, or the right to leave the dumpster altogether and charge a trip fee. We will always do our best to let you know if we run into any situations like this.
Most trash is allowed in the dumpster. As stated above, heavy materials (dirt, concrete, brick, etc.) are relegated to 20-yard containers and must not be mixed with trash or other materials. Yard waste is acceptable in containers but also cannot be mixed with trash or other materials. It is illegal to mix trash with yard waste. Failure to comply with these regulations can result in additional charges.
You CANNOT put these items in the dumpster:
- Paint
- Tires
- Appliances with freon
- Flammable, toxic, or other hazardous materials
If a driver finds these materials in a dumpster, they can be left onsite or additional charges may be added to your bill. The maximum weight of the container cannot exceed 10 tons; dumpsters that are too heavy and unsafe can either be rejected by the driver, resulting in a failed trip fee, or will result in overage fees of $50/ton for each ton over 10. Please see our terms and conditions for further details.
Please click the Container Sizes tab at the top of the page to determine which size is best for you. The vast majority of our containers are the same length and width; the only difference is in height. If you are planning on putting HEAVY MATERIALS (dirt, concrete, brick, etc.) in the dumpster, you are limited to purchasing a 20-yard container. These materials CANNOT be mixed with other materials, as they have to go to separate landfills. The maximum weight cannot exceed 10 tons. Failure to comply with these regulations can result in additional charges. Please see our terms and conditions for further details.
We accept Visa and MasterCard. Discover and American Express can be used for an additional processing fee. You will be charged prior to the delivery of the dumpster. This is a flat fee; there is no added dump charge unless there are prohibited items in the container or the container is over 10 tons, at which point you may incur a penalty charge.
